Code Geass: Lost Colors Translation

Introduction

The following is the introduction scene that always starts off every game of Code Geass: Lost Colors. The scene is divided in two parts: the first part starts from when Rai arrives at the school to when he is asked his name, and the second part continues from when he states his name to the end of the introduction. (Note that, after finishing the game once, you will always restart the game directly from when Rai gives his name.)

 

Part 1:

Location: ND (Not Determined)

 

「ハァ、ハァ……」

???: Haa, haa…

 

――無我夢中に走り続けていた僕は、

ここで建物に道をさえぎられた。

—Continuing to run absorbedly, my path was obstructed here by a building.

 

「ここまで来れば……」

???: If I’ve come this far…

 

ふと我に返り、あたりを見回す。

Suddenly, I came to my senses and looked around at my surroundings.

 

「ここは……どこだ………」

???: Where…is this…?

 

（……ん？　誰かが来る……）

(…Hmm? Someone’s coming)

 

近づいてくる人の気配を感じ、

とっさに木陰へと身を隠した。

I felt the presence of people approaching, and immediately hid myself in the shadow of a tree.

 

「ごめんね～、急な仕事入れちゃって。

　でも前サボってるんだから、

　これでチャラね」

Milly: Sorry~, for making you accept this sudden task. But since you skipped class earlier, this makes us even, right?”

 

「だから、あれは不可抗力だと

　説明したでしょう？　何度も……」

Lelouch: So you’re saying it’s inevitable? How many times…

 

どうやら、ここは学校のようだ。

会話の内容はよくわからないが

２人はここの学生らしい……。

It seemed this place was a school. I didn’t understand the contents of their conversation very well, but the two of them seemed to be students here…

 

学生とはいえ、見つかるのは

まずい……どうする……

あの力を使うか？

They may be students, but it will be bad if I’m seen by them…What should I do…Should I use that power?

 

「うっ……！」

???: Ugh…!

 

「誰だ！」

Lelouch: Who’s there!

 

思わず声が出てしまった。

だめだ――頭が痛みでガンガンする。

逃げなければ……

I unconsciously let out my voice. No good—my head was throbbing with pain. I have to run away…

 

だが……身体が動かない……。

But…My body wouldn’t move…

 

そのまま、意識が遠のいていく――

Like that, my consciousness was receding—

 

「……気を失ったのか？

　この服は……生徒じゃないな。

　どうします、会長？」

Lelouch: …Did he faint? His clothes…they aren’t those of a student. What should we do, President?

 

「う～ん。誰かしらね、この子。

　ま、とりあえず、放っておく訳にも

　いかないわね」

Milly: H~mm. Who is he, this boy? Well, in any case, we can’t just leave him alone.

 

「んじゃ、保健室に連れていくわよ。

　ほらほら、男子。ガーッツ！」

Milly: Then, let’s bring him to the infirmary. Come on, come one, young man. GUTS!

 

「はいはい。

　まったく、人使いが荒いんだから」

Lelouch: Yes, yes. Good grief, you work your subordinates hard.

 

Location: School Infirmary

 

僕は眠っていたのか……。

気付くと、そこは部屋の中だった。

Had I been sleeping…? When I became aware of it, I was inside a room.

 

ぼやけた視界がはっきりしてくると、

ベッドのそばに女生徒が立っていた。

Once my blurred vision became clear, I saw a female student standing near my bed.

 

「……ここは、どこだ」

???: …Where is this?

 

「あ、目が覚めた？」

Milly: Ah, you’ve woken up?

 

「みんな、この子起きたわよ！」

Milly: Everyone, he’s awake!

 

女生徒のかけ声で、

数人の生徒が近寄ってきた。

Several students drew near due to the female student’s shout.

 

「ここがどこだか分からない、って

　顔してるな。まぁ、質問したいのは

　こっちなんだけどな」

Lelouch: Your face is saying “I don’t know where I am”. Well, we’re the ones who want to ask questions.

 

「もう、ルルーシュったら。

　そんな怖がらせるようなこと

　言っちゃだめでしょ？」

Milly: Geez, Lelouch. You shouldn’t say such things to scare him, you know?

 

「大丈夫よ～。あなたは何も

　心配しないでね。元気になるまで、

　ここにいていいんだからね」

Milly: It’s okay~. You don’t have anything to worry about. You can stay here until you recover.

 

――この二人は、僕が気を失う前に

見かけた学生のようだ。ということは、

ここは学校の中か？

—These two seemed to be the two students I saw before I fainted. So then, this place was within the school?

 

「私はミレイ。

　ミレイ・アッシュフォードよ。

　あなたを助けた命の恩人ね」

Milly: My name is Milly. Milly Ashford. The benefactor who saved your life.

 

「ここ、アッシュフォード学園の

　生徒会長をやってるわ」

Milly: I serve as the student council president here at Ashford Academy.

 

「……アッシュフォード学園。

　それが、ここの名前か」

???: …Ashford Academy. So that’s the name of this place.

 

「そうよ。あなた、私達の前で倒れた

　あと、何日間も眠り続けてたのよ。

　ほんとに心配したんだから」

Milly: That’s right. After you fell down in front of us, you kept sleeping for many days. I was really worried about you.

 

「それでね。あなたのこと、眠っている

　間にいろいろ調べさせてもらったんだ

　けど、何もわからなくって……」

Milly: And also. We tried to investigate as much as we could about you while you were sleeping, but we couldn’t find out anythings…

 

「とりあえず、呼びにくいんで

　名前を教えてくれるかしら？」

Milly: For the time being, could you call us what name to call you?

 

「僕の……名前……」

???: My…name…

Part 2:

(Note: After completing the game once, you will automatically start from this point when you begin a new game.)

(Name Selectiomn: For the pre-set name “Rai”, click on 自動 and then press 決定 to return to the game. Otherwise, choose any name you wish.)

 

「僕の名前は、ライだ」

Rai: My name is Rai.

 

「ライね。

　いい名前じゃない～」

Milly: Rai, huh. What a nice name~.

 

「それで、お前は何者なんだ？」

Lelouch: So, who exactly are you?

 

「こら、ルルーシュ！

　まずは自己紹介からでしょ！！

　ほら、みんなも」

Milly: Hey, Lelouch! Introduce yourself first!! Come on, everyone else too.

 

「……ルルーシュだ」

Lelouch: …I’m Lelouch.

 

「俺はリヴァル。

　リヴァル・カルデモンドね」

Rivalz: I’m Rivalz. Rivalz Cardemonde.

 

「私はシャーリー。よろしくね！」

Shirley: I’m Shirley. Nice to meet you!

 

「枢木スザクです。よろしく」

Suzaku: I’m Kururugi Suzaku. Nice to meet you.

 

「で、ライ。

　君は一体、何者なんだい？」

Lelouch: So, Rai. Just who on earth are you?

 

「……わからない」

Rai: …I don’t know.

 

なぜ自分はここの学園にいるのか、

どうやってここまでたどり着いたのか

まったく分からなかった。

I had no idea at all about why I was at this school, nor how I had arrived here.

 

名前や生活に必要な知識以外の

重要な事は何も思い出せない。

I could remember nothing important except my name and the knowledge needed to live.

 

思い出そうとすると、もやがかかった

ようにそれが隠されてしまう感覚に

襲われる。

When I tried to remember anything else, I was struck with the sensation that it was hidden from me, as if it were covered in a haze.

 

ただ一つ、覚えているのは……

僕には、不思議な力が使えるという

ことだけだ。

The only thing I could remember was…that I could use a mysterious power.

 

――ただ、これは

人に言うわけにはいかない。

—But, I couldn’t tell anyone this.

 

「わからない……

　って、記憶がない？」

Suzaku: You don’t know…you mean, you don’t have any memories?

 

「んー、記憶喪失ってことかしら？

　困ったわね……」

Milly: Hmm, so you’ve lost your memories, then? That’s a problem…

 

「やはり警察に保護してもらった方が

　よさそうだな」

Lelouch: As I thought, it seems to be better if you were cared for by the police.

 

正体の知れない自分を置いておくのは、

学園にとっていいことじゃない。

僕は無理に起き上がろうとした。

It isn’t good for a school to take in someone like me whose true identity is unknown. I tried to forcibly get up.

 

「なんだったら、記憶が戻るまで、

　ここにいればいいんじゃない？」

Milly: If you like, why don’t you stay here until your memories return?

 

「はぁ？！

　会長、何を言って……」

Lelouch: Haa!? President, what are you saying…

 

「おお！　それいいアイディア！」

Rivalz: Ooh! That’s a good idea!

 

「バカ、すぐ乗るんじゃない！

　危険すぎます！！」

Lelouch: Idiot, don’t hop on board so quickly! It’s too dangerous!!

 

「よし、キマリね！

　そんなこともあろうかと、すでに

　お爺様に許可をもらってきちゃった」

Milly: Alright, it’s decided then! I already got permission for it from grandfather just in case it turned out like this.

 

「会長！　単に面白がってる

　だけでしょう！　いつもいつも……。

　はぁ、知りませんよ。ホントに」

Lelouch: President! You’re just doing this to amuse yourself! Each and every time…Sigh, I don’t know what to do with you. Honestly.

 

「彼の言うとおりだ……。

　僕のせいで危険なことに

　まきこんでしまうかもしれないし」

Rai: It’s just as he says…You may get involved in something dangerous because of me.

 

「それはたぶん、だ～いじょうぶよ！

　女の勘ってやつだけど」

Milly: It’s probably be fi~ne! That’s what my woman’s intuition says.

 

「まぁ、ちゃんとしかるべきところには

　届け出てはみるけどね。なんにせよ

　身元引受人は必要なわけだし」

Milly: Well, you’ll have to report in at an appropriate place, though. No matter what, you’ll need a guarantor of your identity and background.

 

「この子、はじめて会った時から、

　な～んか放っておけないのよね」

Milly: Since I first met this child, I just couldn’t leave him alone somehow.

 

「ここに迷い込んだのも、何かの縁。

　記憶が戻るまで、私が面倒みます！」

Milly: The fact that you lost your way here may also be some kind of fate. I’ll look after you until your memories return!

 

「しょうがないな……。

　会長一人じゃ不安だし、俺たち

　生徒会メンバーで面倒みるか」

Lelouch: No helping it then…I’m worried about the president by herself, so the rest of us student council members will looked after you as well.

 

「あ……ありがとう」

Rai: Ah…thank you.

 

「そうと決まったら、皆にも

　紹介しなくちゃね。

　ニーナ、カレンもちょっと」

Milly: Since that’s decided, I have to introduce you to everyone else as well. Nina and Kallen, come over here too.

 

「こっちの眼鏡の子がニーナ。

　あっちの大人しい子がカレンよ」

Milly: This girl with glasses here is Nina. The quiet girl over there is Kallen.

 

「……どうも」

Nina: …Hello.

 

「よろしく」

Kallen: Nice to meet you.

 

「それと、あっちにいる車椅子に

　座った可憐な少女が、ナナリー」

Milly: And the cute girl sitting in a wheelchair over there is Nunnally.

 

「よろしくお願いします」

Nunnally: It’s a pleasure to meet you.

 

「ちなみに、ルルーシュの妹さんね。

　おイタすると、ルルーシュに

　こっぴどくやられるわよ」

Milly: Incidentally, she’s Lelouch’s little sister. If you do anything to her, Lelouch will seriously kill you.

 

「私たち、生徒会メンバーがあなたを

　ばっちりバックアップするわ」

Milly: We student council members will properly back you up.

 

「生活に必要なものはここに揃えて

　おいたから当面は問題ないでしょう」

Milly: Since everything needed for you to survive has been prepared here, you shouldn’t have any problems for the time being.

 

「今日はまだ目覚めたばかりで

　本調子じゃないでしょ？　明日から

　いろいろやってみましょうか！」

Milly: Since you’ve only just woken up, you’re not in top condition yet today, right? Let’s try out various things tomorrow then!

 

「……ありがとう」

Rai: …Thank you

 

そして、僕は再び眠りについた。

And then, I fell back asleep.

 

――翌日。

—The next day.

 

「おはよう！

　調子はどうかしら？」

Milly: Good morning! How are you today?

 

「ああ、随分よくなった。もう大丈夫」

Rai: Yeah, I’m considerably better. I’m fine now.

 

「ではでは、さっそくですが

　これに着替えてもらおうかしら」

Milly: Then, this is sudden, but how about you change into this?

 

手渡されたのはアッシュフォード学園の

制服だった。驚いている僕を見て、

彼女はいたずらっぽく笑った。

What she handed me was an Ashford Academy student uniform. Seeing my surprise, she laughed mischievously.

 

「あなた、ルルーシュに似てスレンダー

　だからきっと似合うわよ」

Milly: Since you’re slender like Lelouch, it’ll definitely suit you.

 

「それを着て、いろんな場所に行って

　みるといいわ。なにかがきっかけで

　記憶が戻るかもしれないし」

Milly: Once you’ve put that on, I hope you’ll go out to various places. Maybe something will trigger your memory to return.

 

「よかったら、授業も受けてみる？

　仮入学ってカタチで、ルルーシュたち

　と同じクラスにしておいたから」

Milly: If you’re okay with it, how about you take classes as well? I’ve already put you into the same class as Lelouch and the others in the form of provisional enrollment here.

 

「いたれりつくせりだな……。

　わかった。

　いろいろと出歩いてみるよ」

Rai: You’re most gracious…I understand. I’ll go out to various places.

 

「よろしい！

　じゃあ、私は授業に行ってくるから

　また後で会いましょうね」

Milly: Good! Well then, I have to go to glasses, so I’ll meet with you again later.

 

こうして、記憶を失った

僕の新しい生活がここ、

アッシュフォード学園ではじまった。

And thus, my new life as a boy without memories began here at Ashford Academy.
